In another disappointing announcement of a new TDI, the Audi Q7 will be available in a V12 TDI. Disappointing because there is no mention of ever bringing it to the US. Amazing feats of engineering having he twin-turbo V12 TDI conform to the Euro 5 emissions class which should come into force in 2010. Fuel economy is estimated at nearly 20 mpg.
The Q7 comes equipped with a 6.0-liter engine similar to the one featured in R10 Le Mans racing car. It produces 500 horsepower and 758 pound-feet of torque (1000 Nm). The crossover is capable of hitting 62 mph in 5.5 seconds, with a limited top speed of 155 mph.
