As was pointed out on our Yahoo Group, there will be a Living Green Special which will highlight biodiesel as an alternative fuel. (Thanks Charlie)
Living Green:
Soy Bio-Diesel Fuel Good For EconomyThis coming Monday, WCPO is presenting a prime-time special on "Living Green," the new environmental trend.
One of the sponsors of the program wants all of us to experiment with Bio-Diesel, specifically, fuel made from soybeans.
Soybean bio-diesel fuel is a renewable resource that can be used in any diesel engines with no modifications – making it a fuel for trucks, tractors, school buses and more.
A blend of soybean oil and petroleum diesel, experts say soy bio-diesel reduces ozone emissions by 50% and greenhouse gases by 78%.
That makes an alternative fuel that's better for our environment, and because it is produced and distributed in Southwest Ohio, it helps our economy.
Peter Cremer North America, located in Ivorydale in St. Bernard, produces 30-million gallons annually, with plans for expansion.
"We've been here since 1999," said Mack Findley, of Peter Cremer NA. "Eight years later, have brought 120 jobs here in Cincinnati."
"There are buses here using the Nexsol bio-diesel in all their buses," said Findley. "Impact in general area, we are trying to heighten awareness of bio-diesel."
